l Make sure it’s fully charged prior to install the product.
l Check the battery state of charge before fitting it by pressing and holding the TEST button on the BATTERY Voltage INDICATOR located in between the terminals on top of the battery, it is recommended to charge the battery when the voltage is lower than 12.8V.
l Visually inspect the product for any signs of damage (e.g., cracks, dents). Make sure the battery terminals are free from dirt, oxidation, or corrosion.
l Install the product in any horizontal or vertical orientation, except with the terminals facing downward. Follow the below steps for the installation process:
1. Remove the original battery following the manufacturer's guidelines.
2. Compare the size of the original battery to the DOUKAS. If the original battery dimensions are larger than the DOUKAS, use the included spacers to adjust the height to match the original battery as closely as possible.
DOUKAS has 4 different sizes of spacers, please select the appropriate spacers for installation as required.
Model | Spacers Dimensions(mm) | Spacers quantity | Screw & nuts
M6 | M5 | |||
DKL5 | 107*56*20 | 2 | 2 | 2 |
DKL9 | 134*65*10 | 1 | 4 | / |
DKL14 | 150*87*10 | 4 | 4 | / |
DKL20 | 165*87*10 | 4 | 4 | / |
DKL30 | 165*87*10 | 4 | 4 | / |
Note: The Spacer needs to be aligned to the position and installed to the end.
3. Securely fasten the battery to the battery tray/box, making sure the battery cables reach both battery terminals.
4. Using the included fastener hardware, attach battery cable correct battery terminal (positive cable to positive terminal, negative cable to negative terminal). Make sure the battery cables connect to the correct polarity.
l The battery should be stored at 20%~100% charge.
l The battery should be stored in a clean, dry, and Ventilated environment (-20~40°C/-4~104°F), not in contact with any corrosive substances and away from sparks, heat, and fire.
l The battery should be charged completely within first 90 days, then charge once every 180 days when in storage.
l For air shipments, the battery MUST be below a 30%SOC according to air shipping IATA regulations.
l The battery should be secured with insulation and shockproof material, to avoid damage from sudden jolts and impacts.
l The battery should be handled with care when loading and unloading during transport. Do not throw the battery and avoid collisions.
l Do not transport the battery together with flammables, explosive objects, or sharp metal goods.
l Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery, when the vehicle is in storage for a long time or used infrequently.
l If the battery is not in use for longer periods of time, check the voltage to ensure it's at or above 12.8 Volts. If the voltage is lower than 12.8V recharge as described in Section 3 of the instructions. If the voltage is lower than 8V, it is not recommended to charge. Over discharged batteries may often fail to recover the capacity.

PROBLEM | POSSIBLE CAUSE | SOLUTION |
Engine cannot be cranked | The battery voltage is lower than 12V. | Remove the battery, charge it with the DKC2A charger DOUKAS suggested, and try starting it when fully charged. |
The battery does not match the vehicle or engine. | DOUKAS batteries offers great cranking performance even at low temperatures. If your specific engine requires exceptionally high cranking currents, consider to select another model with bigger capacity.
Still won't start after charging | Check whether the battery starting capability cannot meet the starting requirements because the ambient temperature is too low. | Recommended to use the battery within the specified temperature range. |
If the temperature environment is within the temperature range of the battery, it may be that the battery performance is reduced due to the improper use of the battery before and can no longer meet the starting demand. | Replace new battery.
Battery has no output. | Connect the battery firmly; connect the battery in the correct way.
Battery will not be charged. | The battery voltage may be too low for the battery charger to detect. | See the battery charger's instructions for more information. If the battery is stored at 12.8 volts or lower for a long time, the battery may be damaged. In this case, you are advised to replace the battery. |
The charger may be damaged, causing the battery to fail to charge. | Please check whether the charger is abnormal and ensure that the charger is in good working condition.
Battery won't hold a charge | Check your vehicle for parasitic voltage drains. These voltage drains can occur in many different power sport vehicles. Lithium batteries have a lower amp hour [AH] capacity compared to lead-acid batteries and will go dead faster if there is a parasitic voltage draw. | If your vehicle will be in storage for any amount of time, it is highly recommended to either fully charge and disconnect the negative cable from the battery or place the battery on an appropriate/compatible battery charger/maintainer. |
After the battery is installed, the vehicle ECU displays a blinking or black screen | It may be that the voltage of the vehicle charging system is abnormal, causing the battery to trigger overcharge protection. | Please check and repair the vehicle charging system immediately. |
Battery voltage indicator cannot be displayed | Check the battery voltage. The voltage indicator does not display when the voltage is lower than 5V. | The display can be restored by charging the battery above 5V. |
Spacers drop out | The bottom bracket clasp and slot are damaged, and there are foreign bodies in the slot. | Check whether the bottom bracket fastener and slot are complete and whether there are foreign bodies in the slot. |
Poor performance cold weather | Cold weather can adversely affect the performance of a lithium battery(due to increased resistance caused by low temperatures). DOUKAS lithium batteries are not intended for use in temperatures below 0°F/-18°C. | If your vehicle will not turn over during the first startup attempt, turn on the vehicle lights or accessories for a short period of time for press the starter button a few times].This will help to internally warm the battery. The battery should then function properly. |
Battery has expanded/battery Case or top is deformed | This is usually a case of overcharge or overvoltage due to the use of an incorrect/defective battery charger or a defective vehicle charging system. DOUKAS lithium batteries have built-in overcharge protection, but these systems also have limitations. Over discharge problems can also be caused when the incorrect battery is used. | Stop to use it immediately, contact the local dealer for recycle. |
Sudden power failure during normal Use | Bad / poor working conditions will cause the battery failure. | Make sure battery trays and holders are well connected to our batteries. |
The item DKL20, DKL30 has Quad terminal design, you can adjust the polarity by move the interchangeable Quad terminal to opposite side.
Please connect the positive and negative wires to the positive and negative terminals on the same side of the battery. Do not reverse connect the positive and negative terminals.
Don’t connect all four terminal for reduce the power lack risky.
You can check the battery voltage by press the “TEST” button on battery top to display the battery voltage. According to the displayed voltage range, there will be different status, as shown in the table below:
VOLT/V | STATUS |
13.2-14.4 | Ready to go |
11.1-13.1 | Supplementary charge required |
8.0-11.0 | Recover charge required |
<8.0 | Not recommended to continue use again and must be safely destroyed in accordance with local regulations |
